I put one of those thick media filter cabinets on my furnace a few years back. It has made a big difference for my allergies and changing that big filter just once or twice a year is a breeze.
I use and recommend the Electronic Air Cleaners (Electrostatic Precipitators): These use an electrical charge to ionize particles, which makes them stick to charged plates.
