How does a purifier actually work

Picked up a new purifier recently and it's working fine, but one thing I can't wrap my head around is how it's actually pulling air from the room. There's no strong suction or anything obvious and I know it's filtering lol, but I don't get how the air's getting drawn in so efficiently, who can tell me how it actually works

Take a little piece of tissue paper and hold it lightly against the small intake holes on your air purifier,just make sure it's not near the spots where the clean air comes out. You'll notice the tissue gently gets pulled in by the same airflow that's bringing in air from the room.

It's a super quick way to see if everything's working as it should. Plus, it's really helpful when you're setting up the unit or checking for any blockages.

Totally get what you're saying, it's weird because you expect some loud whoosh or noticeable pull, but most purifiers are designed to be subtle, they use a fan inside that pulls air in slowly and steadily, usually from the sides or bottom, depending on the model, you might not feel strong suction standing next to it, but over time it moves a lot of air through the filters
